Our Team

Abby Ryan Bennett, founder and creative director of Abby Ryan Design, has spent the past decade helping clients develop and produce effective messages and design solutions across various mediums. By staying on top of the latest design trends and technology, she makes your vision crisp, current, and memorable.

After completing her BFA in graphic design at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia in 2001, Abby moved to New York City where she worked on both print and web projects at Opto Design. Three years later, she ventured to the sunnier West Coast as a senior designer at Douglas Oliver Design in Southern California. She returned to Philadelphia in 2009 to open her own studio and fulfill her goal of working next to her best friend (and dog) Miko all day long.

She has created work across many mediums, including: logos, identities, branding, websites, corporate communications, annual reports, editorial design, books, magazines, advertising, packaging, posters, invitations, and photography.

Abby's breadth of skills allows her to connect with companies regardless of their size or type, from small BYOBs in South Philadelphia to tech companies in the Silicon Valley. Her partial client list includes: Academy of Natural Sciences, Alexandria Real Estate, America Civil Liberties Union, Amnesty International, The Cheesecake Factory, Fond, Moore College of Art + Design, Nike, The New York Times, NYU, Pfizer, Studio 360, Rockwell Group, Ryland Homes, Tejon Ranch Company, Temple University, Universe/Rizzoli Publishing, WNYC Public Radio, YourTango.com.

Abby's work has been recognized by many prestigious design organizations and publications, such as: Print Design Annual, Society of Publication Design Annual, Communication Arts Design Annual, The Black Book AR 100, Graphics New Talent Design Annual, How Magazine Self Promo Annual Competition, and Art Directors Club of New York. In addition, the Library of Congress selected her work to be part of their Permanent Design Collection.

Her talents are not just limited to her studio. To gain a world view on design, Abby spent three semesters as an adjunct graphic design professor for Tyler School of Art in Tokyo. In 2010, she returned to teach at her alma mater and is currently an assistant professor at Philadelphia's Tyler School of Art, one of the top 20 art schools in the U.S.
